Collection: Évi

My name is Évi, I am originally from Hungary and now live in Stockholm. When I’m not creating in clay, I work as a software developer.

I have been interested in ceramics for a very long time. I think I first properly met clay as a child at a summer camp, and somehow I have never quite been able to let it go. Over the years, the curiosity has always come back.

I love how physical and unpredictable it is. You can have a very clear picture in your head, but the clay usually has its own opinion.

I am especially drawn to playful objects, small sculptures and strange little creatures, as well as things that are useful but still have a bit of personality. I am always experimenting, which is probably my favourite part: trying different techniques, clays and glazes, mixing things that maybe don’t belong together, and seeing where it leads.

For me, ceramics is less about making everything perfectly identical and more about creating objects that are a little unusual and hopefully make someone feel something – joy, curiosity, surprise, or something else entirely.
