As a ceramicist, I mainly focus on hand-building. Taking inspiration from nature and architecture, I use surrealism to shape my ideas and thoughts in my work.
I have always been interested in art, but it was during my six years in the USA that I found ceramics by chance – my academic advisor recommended that I take a ceramics class, and I barely knew what it involved when I said yes. Four years later, it is still my greatest passion.
When I first started with ceramics, I mainly focused on sculptural work, often inspired by heavier subjects such as social issues, identity and my personal experience of being both Swedish and American – something I am now working on returning to in my practice.
